Carol Appelhanz, CPA/ABV, CVA

Carol graduated from Washburn University and received her CPA certificate in 1986. She worked in public accounting while attending school and joined Cobler & Associates, P.A. in 1982. The Cobler firm was merged into Mize, Houser & Company in 2003, and Carol became a shareholder in Mize, Houser & Company at that time.

Serving the firm's quick service restaurant (QSR) clients, Carol's focus is business, tax and estate planning, as well as restaurant sales and acquisitions and succession planning. She has received accreditation in business valuation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. Carol is a member of both organizations, as well as the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants and is the Kansas Chapter President for the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

Carol has served the community as chairperson of the Wabaunsee County Extension Council, chairperson and treasurer of Cornerstone of Topeka, Inc., chair of the Assumption School finance council and volunteer tutor at the school, and a 4-H community leader.
